Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals with Bow require a Rental Agreement, which will be provided upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations associated with the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between this document and the Rental Agreement, the latter will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Bow Car Hire, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional fees. A valid full driving license for the relevant vehicle category, held for the duration noted in the Rental Agreement, is required. Please present valid identification and proof of your current address. Additionally, valid payment details and a security deposit are necessary. Any supplementary requirements will be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments Process
- Reservations for Bow's car hire services can be made via our website, by phone, or directly at our Dartford office. A booking deposit may be necessary to confirm your reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are stated in British Pounds (£) and inclusive of applicable VAT. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At Bow Car Hire, we prioritize the condition and proper use of our vehicles. Upon collection, it is your responsibility to thoroughly inspect the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the car. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as received, accounting for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated, and costs will be applied accordingly. Ensure the fuel level matches what it was when you collected the vehicle, as refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. If you anticipate a late return, contact us as soon as possible, as additional charges may be incurred. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges that arise during your rental, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Policy
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance, with full coverage details and excess amounts outlined in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability. You are responsible for any damages or losses up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is purchased. Negligence or misuse will remain your responsibility regardless of coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and modification policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For detailed information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that cancellations made late or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, or engaging in off-road driving. Transporting hazardous materials, sub-letting the vehicle, or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as well as exceeding passenger and weight limits, is unacceptable. Additionally, operating the vehicle outside the specified geographical boundaries without proper authorization is prohibited.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, Bow Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for your rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Terms Updates
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are published on our website. Continuing to use our services indicates your agreement with the revised Terms.
